Internet Marketing Tips For Beginners
Sep 30th, 2009 by admin
Marketing on the Internet is a double-edged sword for most beginners. Although the concepts behind Internet marketing are very simple, executing these concepts successfully can be very difficult. With this in mind, this article will attempt to explain the in’s an outs of Internet marketing and break down some of the various strategies available that can help beginners start their own successful marketing campaigns. We will cover techniques like, creating a website, email marketing, newsletters, optimizing your website for search engines and placing banner advertisements.
One of the basic tools for starting an Internet marketing campaign is having an attractive functional website. If you don’t have a website or have a poorly designed one, you should really consider creating or re-designing your site to properly market your products. If you are not familiar with website design, there are software packages available that will help you develop a functional website. Hiring a professional designer can be very useful because they can make your website more attractive and suitable for your products. They can also help you add more advanced features on your site, but they can be rather expensive.
Email newsletters can be an excellent marketing strategy. Newsletters are simply emails that contain a variety of information, including articles, relevant advertisements and any other information that your readers will find interesting and useful. The good thing about newsletters is that if worded correctly they can generate a great deal of sales. Your approach needs to be a subtle one, you can casually mention any product or program you are promoting but you must not over do it, as your newsletter will be seen as spam. Always be sure to have plenty of good useful content in your newsletter and a small amount of advertisements, soon your readers will trust you and your judgment and they will begin to purchase from you.
Banner advertisements are another great way of advertising you business on the Internet. Banners usually contain graphics and text, these brightly colored flashing banners attract the eyes of the visitor and gets them to click the ad. When the visitor clicks on the ad they are taken to your website. This type of advertising can be very effective, but the banner must be placed on high traffic websites that attract an audience that may be interested in your products. Also the position of the banner is important, usually banners placed at the top of websites are the most effective.
Many say no Internet marketing campaign would be complete without the use of email marketing. This type of marketing involves sending out emails to a group of people who may be interested in your products. Care should be taken in sending out these emails to avoid sending emails that are unsolicited and will be viewed as spam. One way to do this is to only send out emails to users who have requested inclusion on a mailing list. Another way to do this is to provide value in the emails as opposed to just including advertisements. This can be done by offering relevant advice in your emails and other useful information that may be of interest to the recipients of the email.
Finally, search engine optimization is a critical part of any Internet marketing campaign.
Search engines rank websites according to quality and relevance for particular search terms. Many Internet users appreciate the effort by search engines and use these search engines to find the best websites on a particular subject. This means that Internet users are likely to only visit websites that rank well. Therefore if your website is not high ranking, you are not likely to generate a great deal of traffic from Internet users who use search engines. Top ranking websites are likely to obtain the most traffic from search engines and all websites falling on the first page of the search engine results will likely enjoy some degree of success in improving their traffic. Keep these points in mind when beginning any Internet marketing venture.

How many times have you caught yourself jumping from site to site looking for the information that you needed, and wanting more?
The internet is a vast virtual library of information, and just like a library has many books, the internet has many websites. Imagine yourself in a library and finding a book that had everything you were looking for all in that one book. Tough to imagine right? The same problem has been present on the internet. All the information you are looking for is out there, and before now, it was scattered among the millions of websites.
Now you can come to AnglersResource.org and find all the information that you need to be a successful angler. No more jumping from website to website to find all the information that you need. From California to New York, fishermen can come to AnglersResource.org and get the most up-to-date information on the internet.
AnglersResource.org is the original all inclusive fishing resource guide. Other websites have come out since the launch of AnglersResource.org in November of 2007, however none capture the essence of connecting with the fishing community as we do. Our main goal is to provide the fishing world with a FREE service that has revolutionized the net effect on fishing. The reason why we are able to get all of this information, is because we do the research for you. We go out to all the different sources of information and gather everything fishermen need all to one website - AnglersResource.org. We go out on location to film video tips that cover the most asked questions in the industry. Our members also provide crucial up-to-date reports, product reviews, tips, and vast amounts of first-hand information from all over the world. The fishing products that we get from our sponsors, we give away ever month for free just to say thank you for using the website.
Our goal is to take average fishermen, and teach them how to hone in their skills to advance them to the next level of fishing. This rule applies to all levels of fishermen, from beginners to experts. We have information that will advance any level fishermen to their own next level. You can even talk directly to Professional Fishermen to get the answers to the your fishing questions. We strive to have the most, and the most reputable, information for all fishermen all on one site. We are passionate about getting you your much needed information because AnglersResource.org is created by fishermen for fishermen.
Even professional anglers use AnglersResource.org to get their fishing information. Jimmy Houston, Mark Goines, Charlie Ingram, Justin Lucas, Sondra Rankin are just a few pros that rely on AnglersResource.org for their up-to-date information. You will even see them giving their own tips and tactics to members throughout the website.
AnglersResource.org has appeared on Fishing TV show Hooked On Fishin’ with Mark Goines, and is due to appear on Charlie Ingram’s Fishing University in 2009. We have traveled to the 2008 BassMaster Classic, 2008 ICAST show, and many other fishing events to get you the most up-to-date information on the internet. We are here to work for you to get you everything that you need to advance yourself to the next level of fishing.
We have a unique sponsorship program for the average tournament angler. We now give dozens of starting tournament anglers the opportunity for sponsorship. With our sponsorship program an angler is able to get their name out on the market, as well as hone in on their marketing skills. Any tournament angler will tell you that before you can get sponsorship you must learn how to market yourself. How can you sell your sponsors ideas, if you cannot even sell yourself? We work with our field staff in order to build their fishing resume and to empower themselves to launch their own fishing careers.
So take a few minutes to look around, see how we can take you to the next level, and I will see you out on the water!
what do yout hink?
lol thanks but this is not an advertisement.. DO NOT feel like you have to go see the site.. I just want feedback on the statement
So maybe I should summerize it and put the whole thing on the about us section? This way gets them interested but wanting more…
Sounds good to me. Now that I read it I’ll have to go check it out…lol.
Good luck, and thanks for the site.

I think it sounds good but in my opinion, it’s way to long, in order to lure people in I think your main objective in the mission statement should be to entice people, and then leave them wanting more. You basically bring them to your site before they enter it, although it all sounds great, but try to leave all of finer details of the sight until they actually enter it. I think your site will do well, I know I will check it out, But I would say to try and combine the 4th and 5th paragraph as best you can to do the enticing, this would work for me, and leave all the other stuff to the links on your site. Hope I helped, Bud, and good luck with your new site.

Geesh - if you had to talk to us and give us that sales pitch - you’d have to be one long winded person….will check the site out too..

Much too long. Cut it to a single paragraph, 3-4 sentences, maybe with some 3-5 word bullet points beneath. Save the details ( media coverage, big names, sponsorship) for those sections of the website.
Most people who surf the web who don’t have the patience to be "jumping from site to site looking for the information" also don’t have the patience to read a 600-word "mission statement".

I think that your marketing background and the opportunity for a good free ad was genius.. Good job
