No, it doesn't build a database. That's referred to as the autocomplete cache. Specifically, it's an .NK2 file that is created in each user's profile.

Where that file is depends on which operating system you have.

But, to access it, you have to set your folders where you can view the hidden files, because it's a hidden file.

NOTE: Outlook must be closed for you to do this. And you must be logged in as that user.

XP:
c:documents and settings/user's name/
application data/microsoft/outlook/
outlook.nk2

VISTA:
c:users/user's name/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft
/Outlook/outlook.nk2

Just copy the outlook.nk2 file of the user in question and put it somewhere temporarily (CD, server, memory stick, etc), then when you create the new outlook profile for that person, you will copy the outlook.nk2 file back into the same location as this one came from. Just use the path above to track to it in other words. There's going to be a outlook.nk2 file already there, of course, so either delete it and copy this one in to its place or just copy on top of it and say "YES" to save over. Whichever choice, it's the same thing.
References :
Question about Microsoft Outlook 2003 and the sent email databse?
When we send out emails and type the email address manually or get the info directly from the phone book, eventually it builds up an entire database of recently used names and under the "To:" field if we press, for example, the letter B, people we emailed in the past that have a B starting with their name or their email address will show up in a small list and we can select from them. Is there a way we can backup this database? My client wants to get a new computer and wants this database transferred to the new machine, otherwise it's not worth it to get a new machine
He is 65 years old so alternatives are not available (such as sending an email directly from the address book itself). He is used to certain things and wants everything as simple as possible without learning anything new.

Thank you very much
